Green Howards Museum reopens after £1.7m revamp
Following the recent The Royal Lancers amalgamation parade in Richmond attended by Her Majesty The Queen, another Military regiment is celebrating a different milestone. The Green Howards Museum, located in Richmond Market Place, has reopened to the public following a £1.7m refurbishment funded in part by the Heritage Lottery Fund. (more…)

Richmond Live 2014: The (Beautiful!) South come to the Dales
No sooner has the excitement of the Tour de France left the Dales, another major annual event returns to Richmond this August. Richmond Live, a mini festival held along the banks of the Swale, is back for its 16th year with some great acts performing over the course of 2 days on the 1st and 2nd of August.

All that you need to know for the Yorkshire Grand Départ
Starting on Saturday 5th July 2014, The Tour de France comes to England in a 3 stage nationwide event. North Yorkshire plays host to stage 1 of the tour; “Yorkshire Grand Départ” or more commonly referred to as “The Tour de Yorkshire”. Starting in Leeds, stage 1 covers 190km of Dales countryside passing through the towns of Reeth and Leyburn before finishing in the spa town of Harrogate. 2CS Richmond offers an ideal base to enjoy this inaugural event with Reeth and Leyburn only 20-25 minutes away.
The day promises to be action packed with a full timetable of events and activities planned. Preceding the race will be the tour´s “Caravane Publicitare”; a 180 vehicle convoy that offers music, freebies and entertainment before the race arrives approximately 2 hours later.
